While Egyptian dancers traditionally dance in bare feet, that’s not always practical in a restaurant environment.  Lebanese and Turkish dancers often dance in high heels, anyway.

Street shoes are not recommended for dancing.  Latin dance shoes are generally the best choice, because they combine flexibility with stability – so you can still point your toes but have no risk of getting the wobbles!
