Boleros & Shrugs

If you feel too bare in a bedleh, consider adding a bolero, shrug or tie-front top to your belly dance costume.     A short-sleeved shrug will hide bra overhang, or choose a longer-sleeved bolero or tie top to disguise flabby arms.

Warning - if you're going to buy a shrug that's not made specially for dancing, be sure to test it out first.  Fashion tops are cut with less room in the sleeves, so when you raise your hands over your head, everything lifts - revealing everything you're trying to hide.   That's especially a problem for tie-front tops, where the tie can roll up over your bust when you raise your arms - not a pretty sight!
