Julie Abela has her own studio at Corrimal and is also an importer of high quality belly dance costumes.
Visit her website at Shimmy.com.au (I'm jealous of that website name!) for more details.
The clip below is of her troupe, Shimmy N Sheik.

Soreya's belly dance school is based at the Beleza Samba School studios in Fremantle. She specialises in world fusion belly dance.
I see so many dancers using Isis wings badly - it's nice to see them handled well in this clip of Soreya at the Mind Body Spirit Festival in Sydney 2008:
You can see more of Soreya in action and contact her by visiting her profile at Tribe.net - which, by the way, is becoming a kind of Facebook for belly dancers, especially the Tribal ones (for obvious reasons)!
For details of her classes, visit the Beleza Samba website. Here is a clip of her students in action:
Although most of the profiles on this site are of individuals, Ebony and Ivory are indivisible!
If you'd like Ebony & Ivory to perform at your function, you can email them at . Ebony teaches at Bellyfusion Canberra.
Danielle Lopes de Melo hails from Brazil and has been in Sydney for three years. She incorporates Brazilian moves into her belly dancing to create her own original style. She has recently started teaching in Sydenham at Latin Motion Dance Studios and at Salsa Republic in Chippendale.
If you'd like Danielle to perform at your function, she can be booked through her website.
Rishi is a professional belly dance performer and teacher from Melbourne. Love her dancing - please someone, let me know more about her!
Jane Jardines is one of the few bellydancers in Australia able to make a full-time living from her art. She won the solo, group and best choreography categories at the 1st Annual National Belly Dance Competition in 2003.
Jane has studied and performed internationally (including in Egypt) and her performances are enriched by the variety of styles she has studied (Egyptian Raqs Al-Sharqi, Greek Ciftetelli - ancient and modern, and Turkish mix). She adds further variety with the use of props including a live python, shamadan (candelabra), sword, Isis wings, saiidi, zills and veil).
Jane teaches at Dance Central. If you want a class that raises a sweat and improves your technique, Jane's classes are for you! Her Intermediate class is a good physical and mental workout for intermediate and advanced belly dancers.
See more videos (as well as some gorgeous photos - wow, what costumes!) on her website, Belly Dance Harem.
Having just written about the Tribal belly dancer Azzura reminds me I haven't yet featured for the other Azura, with one "z". The lighting in this video clip is not the best, but it's worth perservering as she displays a wonderful variety of moves - love the back bends!
Azura's Oasis in Brunswick, Melbourne, offers not just belly dancers and Bollywood dancers, but Tarot readers, numerologists, palmists and more. Check out her website at www.azurabellydance.com.au.
The clip below shows a selection from some of their shows.
It's good to be able to include a Queensland belly dancer - I know they're out there somewhere!
Melantha is based in Gladstone and has created a lively belly dance scene in that area with her troupe, Veils of Arabia.
Azzurra (aka Vikki Pretorius) teaches between Bunbury and Burekup, Western Australia. Her extensive knowledge of belly dance and African dance fuses into an earthy style which is well expressed in this video.

I'm pleased to add a second Tasmanian entry to this site! Zahira is from Northern Tasmania and her belly dance speciality is zills.
Her website has information on classes in Tasmania, a Bellydance Bazaar and information on the Tasmanian Middle Eastern Dance Festival, of which Zahira is the organiser.
