Note: I'm often asked why I don't have a separate listing for belly dance schools, like Annabella's belly dance directory. There are a couple of reasons:
- Most schools can supply performers, and many performers are teachers. If I offered separate teachers' or school directories, there would be a lot of duplication. The profiles make it clear whether the individual is a teacher or performer or both.
- Ask any belly dancing student where she learns, and she's unlikely to say, "Amera's Palace" or "Inspire Bellydance". She'll say, "I go to Georgette (at Amera's Palace) " or "I go to Rachel's in Paddington". It's the personality and style of the individual teacher that usually determines whether a student becomes a loyal member of a school, not the reputation of the school itself. So it makes sense to focus on individuals, not schools, when helping students make the choice.
As the site gets bigger, I may find there's a need to have separate directories and I'll be happy to revisit the idea then!
